11-D: Oil Paint
3 April 2012 Reflection
1.) I really enjoyed blending the skin colour since I tried using a mix of colours to shade and highlight for the first time in real life.
2.) I could've done a better job with the jersey because it came out messy, and I spelled "New York" wrong.
3.) I chose Jeremy Lin because he's the one of the most swagger-ful Asian in the NBA along with Yao Ming.
4.) I tried to make the letters big to help take up space in the painting, and I tried to make it lighter to pop out. I also tried to add more details into the background with the "ribbons" across the painting.
5.) I think that people will probably see Jeremy Lin first since he pops out the most compared to the background. Then, they'll notice the "J Lin" second, and a
6.) Oil paint is really messy, and that's the biggest problem I have with it. I really want to try blending more colours too.
7.) At first, it came out the way I drew it, but the colouring was completely different than I planned. I also didn't plan on going past his shoulders, but I got to his mid-chest in the painting. The "J Lin" didn't come out as big as I wanted it, and I probably should've done a different background from the start.
